Hands on Archaeology: Our Team is in Gravesend, UK

This week our team started a two-week work term at the Woodville Civic Centre in Gravesend, England, to 3D Scan Roman and Anglo-Saxon archaeology finds from a high-status Roman burial in Gravesheath.

In a collaboration between Dr. Stephen Sherlock and the Environments of Change team, this project aims to provide a greater understanding of the benefits of digitally reimaging historic artifacts to communities via public outreach initiatives.

Members of the community have been invited to stop by to view the artifacts and watch as they are 3D scanned by our team, and learn all about the process of digitally reimaging historic artifacts in their various contexts.

Check out team members Kian Drew, Shannon Blackmore, Katrina van der Ahe, and Astrid Woerner Kropp in the video below from Gravesham Borough Council.
