Abstract
In December 1927, a group of gay friends and lovers met in a basement flat in Fitzroy Square, near London’s thriving West End. These men, and one woman, would meet, dance and have fun together; they would also have relationships, in a time when same-sex love between men was essentially criminalised. This talk will explore the lives of these individuals, the parties they had and the consequences they faced. Reflecting on the legacy of these individuals, who dared to live and love boldly, despite society’s expectations of them.
