Digitization

Digitization of texts and objects is one of the primary objectives of the Environments of Change project. This activity seeks to make available to a wide and remote audience a variety of historical objects and texts using different forms of scanning.

Our team is currently scanning medieval manuscripts housed in the DRAGEN Lab library. These manuscripts include a variety of choir leaves, loose notarial acts, charters, and other legal documents. The plan, over the next three year, is to generate transcriptions that correlate with the images.

Our team is also developing a methodology for the 3-D scanning of archaeological objects in the DRAGEN Lab. This project includes the scanning of the archaeological artefacts retrieved during various digs performed by the Summer Archaeological Field School held annually by the Bader International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle
